Scope of Work
The scope of work under the turnkey contract inter- alia, encompasses design & engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing & commissioning.
Infra and Engineering (Pvt) Ltd. which is a fully owned subsidiary of Lakdhanavi Limited (“Lakdhanavi”) was assigned as the EPC contractor with joint and several responsibilities assigned to Lakdhanavi for the implementation of 114 MW HFO Fired Power Plant Project, Feni, Bangladesh. Entire civil construction activities were also under the scope of the EPC contractor, including piling, all foundations, substructures and building works. A 132 kV switchyard consist of two numbers of 85MVA transformers and two transformer bays and one line bay, wear erected within the power plant premises. A 5 km transmission line was entrusted to construct a Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation. EPC contractor’s scope of work also includes supply and installation of power generation equipment, where it is required to undertake heavy equipment transport from Mongla port to site.

Scope of Work
Makari Gad Hydro Electric Power Project is located in Darchula district of Sudur Paschim province of Nepal. The project is a run-of-the-river (RoR) scheme. The project will have a generating capacity of 10 MW and will be able to generate saleable annual energy of 69.76 GWh annually. The main structures of the project include an overflow type gravity weir with bottom intake, gravel trap, desilting basin, forebay/penstock inlet chamber, penstock pipe, powerhouse and has a head of 925m.
It is developed by Makari Gad Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. a joint venture company between LTL Energy 93% (a wholly owned subsidiary of LTL Holdings, Sri Lanka) and Hydro Vision Company, Nepal 7%.
The project is being implemented by Lakdhanavi Ltd for construction and Infra Engineering (Private) Limited for supply both wholly owned subsidiary of LTL Holdings, Sri Lanka.
The Power plant is expected to declare commercial operation by 15th December 2020.
CONSTRUCTION OF PENSTOCK IN PROGRESS
Upon completion of an 8 km access road to the site, penstock pipes are being transported to the site storage yard. Construction of 3.3km penstock line is already in progress. Pipeline will have pipes with varying diameters starting from 900mm and ending up at powerhouse at 800mm. Penstock line is designed to withstand 900m hydraulic head and thicknesses of pipes vary between 8mm to 32mm. Penstock Line construction is started from the powerhouse end.
Transportation of pipes between powerhouse and forebay tank will be through ropeway system of 2.5km long. Ropeway system is also under construction and will be completed in another 2 months period.
The construction work in very challenging terrain is progressing smoothly under the supervision of Sri Lankan Engineers. Power Plant is scheduled to commission in 1st quarter of 2021
