1980

Commenced the local manufacturing of distribution transformers.

1991
1991

Commenced galvanizing operations.

1996

Commenced steel fabrication operations.

1997

Lakdhanavi Limited commenced business as Sri Lanka’s first Independent Power Producer (IPP) by commissioning a 24 MW medium speed diesel power plant.

2002
2002

Entered the renewable energy space for by commissioning the 2.5 MW grid connected mini hydropower plant in Belihul Oya, Sri Lanka.

2003
2003

Lakdhanavi Limited, in partnership with Hemas Holdings PLC, secured a 100 MW thermal power project.

Commenced work on the 4 MW mini hydropower plant - Assupiniella.

Commenced participating in international tenders for distribution transformers.

2007

Commenced work on the largest thermal power plant in Sri Lanka at the time - Yugadhanavi, a 300 MW combined cycle power plant.

2010

Entry into Bangladesh -via participation in International Tender for Independent Power Producer (IPP) thermal power plants.

2011
2011

Commenced work on the 10 MW Pawandhanavi wind power plant in Kalpitiya.

2013
2013

Commissioned the 52 MW HFO power plant (Raj Lanka) in Rajshahi, Bangladesh in which it was the sponsor, EPC and O&M Contractor.

2014
2014

Commissioned the 52 MW dual fuel power plant (Lakdhanavi Bangla) in Comilla, Bangladesh in which it was the sponsor, EPC and O&M Contractor.

2016
2016

Ventured into the manufacture of switchgear with the acquisition of Indian Company, Asiatic Electrical and Switchgear.

2017
2017

Lakdhanavi Limited, acting as the EPC contractor for STELCO, commissioned a new 10 MW power plant in the Maldives under an ADB-financed project.

2018
2018

Maiden entry to Nepal - Awarded tender for construction of a 10 MW hydropower plant and is also exclusive O&M contractor for the PPA period.

2019
2019

Commissioned the 114MW HFO power plant (Feni Lanka) in Feni, Bangladesh - Lakdhanavi Limited’s largest in Bangladesh to date.

2021
2021

Commenced construction for a 350 MW combined cycle power plant (Sobadhanavi) - Expected to be Sri Lanka’s first LNG fired power plant.

2023
2023

Established presence as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Nepal through the commissioning of the 10 MW Makarigad Hydro Power Plant.
